Christmas Concert
Our Christmas Concert this year will be Part One, sometimes called ‘the Christmas Portion’, of Handel’s wonderful Messiah. The work begins with the prophecy of the Messiah and His virgin birth by the prophet Isaiah. His birth is also described in words by Isaiah, followed by the annunciation to the shepherds, followed by reflections on the Messiah’s deeds. As has become traditional with ‘Christmas’ Messiah performances we’ll conclude with ‘Hallellujah’ from Part Two.
Our soloists will be Ching-Kwan (Nicole) Ng (Soprano), Luke Phillips (Tenor, and Orlando Barton-Hodges (Baritione). We will be accompanied by the Thanet Festival Orchestra, conducted as always by our Music Director Clifford Lister.
