A perfect show for a summer’s evening

Our summer concert last night was greatly enjoyed by singers and audience alike, and was a fitting end to our 70th Anniversary Year programme. After a relatively gentle first half featuring Rutter’s lovely folk song arrangements and some beautifully-sung ‘ensemble’ items, the second half was an opportunity for everyone to let their hair down and enjoy themselves – including our wonderful Soloists and fantastic Accompanist, Deborah – who gave Trial by Jury their all and, under Clifford’s inspirational direction,  made it come alive. It’s immensely satisfying when hard work is rewarded and a concert comes together so well, and we were really thrilled to have such an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. There’s no time to rest on our laurels, though – it’s ‘in at the deep end’ with Handel’s Israel in Egypt for the next two Wednesdays, before we take our summer break.
