What they say about us

Karl Jenkins ‘The Armed Man’: 10th November 2018

Thank you for a wonderful evening. The Choir as excellent as ever, great poetry readings by Simon Paisley Day and how wonderful was young Alicia Hunt.

We had a perfect view of the choir and the talented musicians in the small orchestra and greatly enjoyed the performance. The music was moving and excellent and the readings so beautifully delivered by Simon gave an opportunity for powerful reflection.

I thought it was great. Thank you!

What a fab concert it was. You all sounded splendid.

ABBA to Oliver! My Fair Lady to The Beatles – Favourite Songs of Yesteryear: 30th June 2018

Had to write to say how much I enjoyed Saturday’s concert. The choir sounded wonderful, brilliant phrasing and such sensitive dynamics

Well done – what a super concert – such a high standard and everyone enjoying their singing so much

The ‘Let it be’ section from the Beatles medley was outstanding, Thanet Festival Choir at its absolute best

I’m sure you could tell how much the audience enjoyed it by their response, and it looked as though you were all having fun too

Gounod ‘Saint Cecilia Mass’ and Vierne ‘Messe Solennelle’: 24th March 2018

‘The Vierne was simply show-stopping’

‘It was a lovely concert; I didn’t know either piece and particularly liked the Gounod Kyrie and Vierne Agnus Dei. The choir sounded on top form’

‘Thoroughly enjoyed the music! It looked as though everyone was enjoying it, too’

‘A performance  full of wonderfully passionate singing, and controlled dynamic contrasts’

‘Impressed with the high quality and professional standard  – we wish that more people in Thanet were aware of the Choir’s existence and could experience an evening like this’

‘Wonderful concert, really enjoyed it’

Handel ‘Israel in Egypt’: Saturday 4th November 2017

‘The singing in the opening chorus almost moved me to tears’

‘Brilliant, just utterly brilliant’

‘An amazing concert – it was a privilege to be there’

‘What a fantastic concert that was! It’s a wonderful piece of music, but more than that, you sang it wonderfully. I don’t think I’d have enjoyed it more in the Albert Hall. Right from the first notes, the confidence of the choirs set the scene and you seemd to be loving it right to the end. Congratulations to all’.

Gilbert & Sullivan ‘Trial by Jury’ and Rutter ‘The Sprig of Thyme’: Saturday 17th June 2017

‘Loved it. What a ‘fun’ night!’

‘Simple beauty the first half and traditional   humour the second – both in the best traditions of our heritage’

‘Lovely to see the members of the Choir – and the Soloists – enjoying themselves so much’

‘The Rutter songs were beautifully sung – very moving’

‘A perfect show for a summer’s evening’

Rutter ‘Psalmfest’ and ‘Requiem’: Saturday 1st April 2017

‘We thoroughly enjoyed the concert last night. Well done to you all!’

‘Very well performed, could hear every word’

‘My son and family loved it and said there were some ‘spine-tingling moments’ and that it was very well done’

‘TFC just keeps raising the bar. That performance of the Requiem was something really special’

‘A compelling and very moving performance. Thank you, we’re looking forward to your next concert’

Handel ‘Messiah’: Saturday 12th November 2016

‘We really enjoyed the evening, the performance was exceptional.  We have never experienced the full Messiah and no idea how much was involved. It was good to see how well it was supported, the church was full.  A great effort all round and you have all done us all a great service.  Who would have thought that Broadstairs could put on such show!’

‘Bravo. What a performance, the choir was fantastic’

‘This was a beautiful experience last night. My son and I enjoyed it very much!’

Passion, emotion, drive, dramatic intensity, complete mastery of the music  .. this performance had it all’
