Choir visit to Belgium
Members of the Choir and some spouses and partners spent the weekend of 17th-19th May in Chimay, Belgium. This was our third visit to our friends in the Chorale Guillaume Dufay de Chimay and probably the best yet. We could not have been made more welcome – the hospitality was superb, the visits extremely interesting (some of us got to meet a real Princess!) and Saturday evening’s concert, in which each choir performed separately before singing three Bruckner motets together, was most enjoyable. Huge thanks to our superb hosts, to our splendid organist James Norrey, to Music Directors Marie-Francoise and Clifford for all their hard work, and to everyone involved in the organisation of a wonderful and memorable weekend. We look forward to welcoming our Belgian friends to Thanet in 2021, when we will peform Mozart’s Requiem together.
