Our programme is just perfect for a summer evening, and features selections from The Gondoliers, Iolanthe, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado, amongst others – including the famous ‘Policemen’s Chorus’, ‘Three Little Maids’ and ‘Sentry Song’. Piano accompaniment will be provided by our regular accompanist Deborah Longley.
The evening will also feature readings by Olivier nominated actor Richard Henders. The readings will throw further light on the contrasting personalities of Gilbert and Sullivan – including extracts from Gilbert’s extensive and very witty correspondence – and provide some context for our musical choices.
Our summer concert is always a light-hearted and ‘fun’ affair, enjoyed by singers and audience alike. Don’t miss it!
